Our Week at Sprout Creek

Monday through Friday we were at Sprout Creek helping out with chores. We had a blast, some made birdhouses, while many of us got to milk cows and goats. Everyone had a great time hanging out with the ISEA group, and everyone from Sprout Creek. Although on Monday the rain did get us down, we still worked our butts off getting everything done, faster then what we had expected. We played a lot of games, and learned some new ones, something about a Moose named Fred, but lets not get into that at this time. Sprout Creek is an amazing learning experience, and I for one love milking goats, its so fun. Also hanging out with everyone, good memories.

It was so delicious, and everyone did a good job working, and cooking everything, yes it was a bit hectic but we pulled through.

New Summer!!

Well hello again. It's 2007 now and Green Teens are working harder then ever. This is our second week of the summer program and so far we have worked at Poughkeepsie Farm Project (PFP) and had Farmers Market training. We just had our first farmers market and it was great! In Beacon we actually sold out of last years Salsa. It was such a hit. The teens are looking forward to getting to our salsa making. We are taking cooking classes, and we started with some simple salsas. It turned out great and everything was delicious. We also learned how to market our Salsa thanks to Bob who came in and talked to us about it, he brought in some salsa for us to try and just to start thinking about what kind of labels and ingredients we are going to put in our new salsa. Its just so exciting to see everyone getting along and working together so hard, yes it is hot but we're pulling through stronger then ever.
